I use a round deep tray, 30 cm diam.

This is the cake my mother most often prepares – a typical German aromatic dessert. Fast, easy, delicious, satiating … a big quantity that disappears quickly.

Products:

4 eggs

1 ½ cup sugar

¾ cup sunflower oil

butter, unsalted (just a pat)

2 ½ cups flour (heaped above the rim)

1 cup Greek yoghurt

1 tsp. baking powder

6-8 pcs plums (large)

cinnamon for decoration

icing sugar for sprinkling (optional)

Preparation:

Cut the plums into halves and pit them.

Mix all the products (without plums and cinnamon), stir well not to have pats. The ready cake mixture I put in a baking tray on a previously greased baking sheet.

On the dough, I arrange the plums at a distance from each other with the heaped side facing the mixture (I put them warily without pressing them).

Put the baking tray in a cold oven and bake at 200ᴼC for 15 minutes, then reduce to 175ᴼC. Shortly before the cake is ready, I sprinkle it with cinnamon and leave it in the oven for another 5-10 minutes.

The total baking time is about 1 hour (indicative, depending on the baking tray and the oven, always keep an eye and check with a wooden skewer).
